Kendra Coates holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, where she specialized in Interpersonal Practice. She works with children, teens, and adults and is passionate about supporting parents, neurodivergent individuals, and those navigating postpartum transitions or chronic illness.
With over 20 years of experience working with children and families across a variety of settings, Kendra brings both professional expertise and deep compassion to her work. Her background includes supporting families as a birth and postpartum doula, working in hospice care, and caring for children and supporting family systems for many years. These experiences have shaped her understanding of how life transitions, caregiving, health challenges, and family dynamics affect emotional well-being.
Kendra has experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, autism, and other mental health challenges. She helps clients reconnect with themselves and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion.
Her approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, drawing on both holistic and evidence-based practices. Kendra strives to create a grounded, authentic space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, heal, and grow.
She deeply values the courage it takes to seek support and believes therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process. Her goal is to work alongside clients with compassion and curiosity so they can move beyond simply surviving and begin thriving in their lives and relationships.
Outside of her work as a therapist, Kendra enjoys reading and spending time with her family and animals.
